Indoor portrait sessions offer total control over mood, and this shoot with Ayavonlust was all about leveraging bold colour saturation, strong architectural shapes, and rich textures.
Ayavonlust wore a deep burgundy-red latex ensemble, a ruffled miniskirt and belted thigh-high stockings with high heels, and a dark fur shoulder wrap. The contrast between the sleek, reflective sheen of the latex and the soft, tactile texture of the faux fur created fantastic visual interest across the frame.
Gelled red ambient light adds immense drama, but it can easily bleed into skin tones if unmanaged. Using a subtle off-axis main light helps keep skin tones natural while allowing the vibrant red ambience to dominate the rest of the scene.
