Working with a trusted model like the phenomenal SJ Jinxx unlocks an incredible creative flow, allowing us to push artistic boundaries together. Our latest project was a visual exploration: treating black tape as couture.
Building on established trust from previous collaborations, we shared a vision of moving beyond simple lines to craft intricate, wearable art. The concept was to use black tape to mimic the structure and flow of high fashion clothing, essentially transforming the body into a living canvas. After discussing desired shapes and designs, we began the hands-on experimentation.
The true magic of this project was its collaborative heart. SJ’s insightful, intuitive understanding of movement and posing with the restrictive tape was fundamental to the final artwork. This deep sense of trust enabled a powerful and intimate exploration of the concept, further heightened by the strategic addition of colored light.
The results, captured at AWOL Studios, were striking. The meticulously applied black tape created a bold, graphic visual language, transforming SJ into a powerful, living sculpture. The final images are a celebration of strength, beauty, and uncompromising artistic expression.
